Autosave problem after last update

After installing the last update I have had a very odd problem with the autosave feature. In the past the autosave would freeze what I was doing for a few seconds every 15 minutes while it created the temporary save file for my work. Now it takes five minutes to save, and updates every seven minutes. And no, this isn't just random or me guessing. It will go into the autosave process and freeze the program completely at 12:55:00, allow me to work again at 1:00:00, and then start autosaving again at 1:02:00, and so on with about 5 seconds accuracy. This obviously has nothing to do with file size or the time interval I set for saves (which by the way I tried changing; still continued 5/2 cycle), so what the hell is going on? I can't get any work done when Fusion is consistently frozen 70% of the time.

Stop updating.  As an IT professional I have never understood the need to update software that is working fine.  Updates exist primarily to fix problems that you experience in software.  Therefore, if you are not experiencing a problem, then why update and potentially open yourself up to new problems?  I live by the mantra, "if it is not broken, don't fix it."

The first thing I do is uninstall the Autodesk update manager.  Might be something to consider down the road.

I can see why you are saying what you are saying but on the other had it's somewhat wrong attitude. Updates are not just to fix bugs, they also provide new features, and/or improvements. The main thing is that updates should be tested enough to where they don't break previously working features. A user should not be affraid to update to a production released software.

Autodesk is pushing out "production quality" versions not "development". The expectation is that "production quality" does not break previously working features. As a software professional, I can understand that regressions creap up from time to time. Just the nature of the business. However, recent updates have started breaking fundamental features (like saving, autosaving, or even *OPENING THE APPLICATION*).

I honestly think that Autodesk should stop pushing these updates as often as they do because the quality of these updates is starting to drop. In the last month or so, I've had to do an update every time I opened Fusion (granted I don't use it on a daily basis). I'd much rather wait for a feature or bug fix until the next "production version" is tested instead of dealing with a whole bunch of new and exciting failures and crashes.

Thanks for reporting this issue.

Can you please send "Diagnostic Log Files" to prathmesh.bodas@autodesk.com ? Please collect log files once fusion comes out of freeze after 5 minutes.

You can find that option as below

Are you seeing this issue on particular file?

On which OS you are seeing this issue?

Thanks,
