Past versions have been saved

When you publish a file in Autodesk Docs, versions are overwritten.

The version is overwritten

But instead of just overwriting a file, you can retrieve the previous version. "You can view the history of versions by clicking or right-clicking a version mark, such as "V1" or "V2", and then choosing Open Version History.

To retrieve past versions, use Copy or Download source file.

  • Copy: Copy this version of the .rvt file to a folder of your choice
  • Download source file:Download this version of the .rvt file

Make it up-to-date

For example, suppose you have Version 1 (V1) and Version 2 (V2). If you want to bring V1 back to the latest, select V1 and select Make Latest. In this case, V2 will not be lost, but a copy of V1 will be placed on top of V2, so you can rest assured.

In this dialog box, "XX Criteria" indicates the difference before and after the change, and "After the change" indicates the name of the changed type. Also, the file name outlined in blue at the bottom indicates that it is the file that is currently displayed.

Click the other file name to view the previous state of the element. In this way, it compares not only the shape but also the information on the properties.
