Using the project synch between BIM360 Docs and Vault makes BIM360 Docs/Vault functions "move", "delete" and "rename" senseless. Much worse these functions result in redundant data in BIM or/and Vault.
Example behaviors from BIM to Vault:
A: If a document is moved from one BIM-folder to another one, in Vault the document will exisit twice (in the old and the new folder) and once in BIM360 (the new folder) after the first scheduled synch. After a second scheduled synch the document will exist twice in Vault and BIM360 as well. Therefore the move function duplicates the document.
B: If a document is renamed in BIM360, in Vault the document exists twice (with the old and the new name) and once in BIM360 (with the new name) after the first scheduled synch. After a second scheduled synch the document will exist twice in Vault and BIM360 as well. Therefore the rename function duplicates the document.
C: If a document is deleted in BIM360, it will be still available in Vault. After a scheduled synch the document will be available in BIM360 again.
From Vault to BIM:
The behaviors are compareable to the mentioned examples above.
While ongoing projects it is unavoidable, some users will make use of these BIM360 Docs or Vault funtions! As a result there will be redundant data in Vault or BIM360 Docs. Temporary we are only able to restrict user-permissions in BIM360 Docs to "View + Upload + Download" and need to stand on rules of conduct for BIM360 and Vault users.
All documents are identified by the file-name not with a unique "ID-number". Therefore these functions result in senseless redundant data and amount of work.
It would be a great improvement to get BIM360 Docs and Vault synchronized.
Additionally it would be great to get more permissions to restrict the functions delete, rename and move only to BIM360 Project- or Account-Administrators as a global project setting. Temporary it is possible to give edeting-permissions to single folders.
