In the design workflow because of the lack of functional visibility of DWGs in BIM 360 (and ACC) we are still required to create redundant copies of files in the form of a PDF.
I had hopes that I could leverage the PDF OCR function to save having to manually populate the drawing description number into Docs, but no. 😞
As a design team we don't use Plans and shouldn't until IFC. This means that this function is completely unavailable us. Ask. Can we get the OCRT and title block function extended to at least Admin specified folders in Project Files.
I have also noted that there is at least one post asking for DWG extraction of title block fields. This seems like a no brainer to me as a designer. No as important as a plot like layout view in the viewer, but definitely the top list.
As it stands I have to manually edit the files to include the descriptions once on the DWG then again on the PDF. Oh the redundant repetition!
