I would like to request an enhancement to Plant 3D annotation objects that allows database-driven text fields within annotations to be dynamically resized or stretched, similar to how AutoCAD blocks with attributes behave. Currently, annotation layouts are fixed, and auto-populated fields (e.g., line number, service, size, specification, etc.) are constrained to predefined widths and locations. While annotation boxes, leaders, and other graphical elements can be stretched or resized, the associated database-driven text fields remain fixed, making it difficult to accommodate varying data lengths while maintaining a clean and readable annotation. A valuable improvement would be the ability to grip-edit or stretch annotation text containers independently, allowing text to expand, contract, wrap, or justify without breaking the database association. This would improve drawing readability, reduce annotation overlap, minimize custom workarounds, and provide greater flexibility when creating annotation standards across projects. This functionality would bring Plant 3D smart annotations closer to the flexibility already available with standard AutoCAD blocks and attributes while preserving Plant 3D intelligence and data connectivity.
