There is a major flaw in Plant 3D Ortho where when you update view, it does not allow you to retain color settings of layers or objects that you have made for your GA. there SHOULD be an option where you can retain the colors of objects and layer colors that you make. This is causing a lot of hours being wasted.
Try setting your template to use the 3D Layers of the Model in the Ortho and use a color CTB file. Not sure if this will work for you, but it is worth a try.
