The current implementation of Submittals and RFIs in the ACC project environment allows users assigned the Submitter/RFI Manager role to view all Submittal and RFI submissions, regardless of the Contractor Company associated with the submission. This is causing an issue for the Developer (Client/Project Admin) who is managing submissions from multiple independent Contractors (Project Members) within this single project. The desired outcome requested by the developer (client) was for the Submitter/RFI Manager to only see and interact with submissions that belong to their designated Contractor Company within the project.

We’d like to share a feature request related to Review Templates management in Submittals, based on feedback from customers managing large-scale projects. Background In large and mega-size projects (especially in Japan), customers often manage 100–200+ review templates within a single project. At the same time, project members frequently change over the course of the project (e.g. reviewers joining or leaving every few months). Because approvals are required per individual person (not just by role or company), review templates need to be updated frequently to reflect these membership changes. Current Challenge Today, all review template updates must be done manually through the ACC Web UI. This creates several pain points: Updating many templates one by one is very time-consuming The UI panel is small, making it difficult to: Search for the correct workflow/template Identify which reviewers need to be removed or added Bulk updates (e.g. replacing reviewers across many templates) are not supported For customers managing hundreds of templates, this becomes a significant operational burden. Requested Capability Customers are asking for a way to manage review templates in bulk, ideally through an Excel-based workflow, such as: Export current review templates to Excel (including template name, step number, reviewers per step) Edit reviewers and steps in Excel Import the updated Excel file back into ACC to apply changes Alternative solutions (bulk edit UI, API-based bulk updates, etc.) could also work, but export/import via Excel would align best with existing customer workflows. Expected Benefits Significant time savings for Submittals managers Reduced risk of manual errors Easier management of frequent reviewer changes Better scalability for large and long-running projects Is this type of bulk management capability on the roadmap, or is there any recommended approach today for handling this at scale? ACC Submittals support only one consolidated status per submittal When multiple files are submitted under a single submittal, it is not possible to track individual file statuses (Approved / Rejected / Revise & Resubmit) Review stamps and comments are available at file level, but these are not reportable or structured data. Suggestion - Allow each file inside a submittal to have its own status Example: File A → Approved File B → Revise & Resubmit File C → Approved

Function to bulk download all attachments while the submittal is open and not just after it is closed. It is tedious for users to have to open and wait for each individual file to load, the option to bulk download will make it easier to view drawings.

Currently, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) limits the number of assignees per Submittal to a maximum of 10 users. For large-scale construction projects, this limitation creates significant workflow challenges. We strongly request increasing this limit to at least 30 individual assignees. Background & Problem Statement ACC Submittals are designed to track review status per individual assignee, which is a very valuable capability for accountability and auditability. However, the current limitation causes issues because: Submittals often require review by many individual stakeholders, not just roles or companies Role-based or Company-based assignees do not fit workflows where: Individual approval status must be visible Review history needs to be tracked per person Individual-based assignment is essential for: Compliance Accountability Long-term record keeping of who reviewed what and when Business Impact Due to the 10-user assignee limit, teams managing large projects are forced to: Create multiple duplicate Submittals for the same document Partially revert to manual or paper-based workflows Use additional tools outside ACC to complete reviews This significantly reduces efficiency and undermines ACC’s value as a centralized platform for large projects. Additionally, Submittals templates often reach the maximum limit (250 templates) more quickly due to duplicated workflows created solely to bypass the assignee restriction. Requested Enhancement Increase the maximum number of individual Submittals assignees to at least 30 users Maintain the current functionality of: Individual review status visibility Per-user approval history tracking Expected Benefits Enables ACC to fully support large and complex project workflows Eliminates the need for duplicate Submittals and manual processes Improves adoption of ACC as a true enterprise-level construction management platform This enhancement would significantly improve usability for teams managing large-scale projects and better align ACC Submittals with real-world industry requirements. When Filtering Submittals by "Type" - There needs to be a feature to "select all" so that deselecting 1 or more is more efficient. When there is a need to filter out the majority of submittals by "Type" some functionality to support selecting all or clear all would be helpful.

While ACC supports multiple reviewer groups across different review steps, it currently does not support a draft-and-final workflow within the same reviewer group. There is no mechanism for group members to submit a draft response that can later be reviewed and formally submitted by a group lead as the final response for that group. Suggest to have. Enable draft responses within a reviewer group, where group members can prepare internal drafts and only the designated group lead can submit the final official response.

Would like the ability to delete attachments from a submittal in the event that a submitter accidentally uploads the wrong attachment (i.e. wrong revisions, wrong division, sensitive info, etc.)

Users (especially the consultants) would like the ability to flag each submittal item with indicators for Cost Implication and Time Implication. Currently, ACC Submittals does not provide dedicated fields for capturing these impacts, making it difficult for project teams to assess potential variations or schedule risks early. This feature request proposes adding two optional columns—Cost Implication and Time Implication—as configurable Boolean or dropdown fields at the submittal item level. This enhancement would help stakeholders quickly identify submittals that may affect project cost or schedule and support more efficient decision-making, reporting, and risk tracking.

Current submittal functionality only allows you to select one individual user as a responsible contractor, or a whole company. Many of our subcontractors have project managers and project coordinators that both upload items to submittals, so the inability to select multiple optional submitters creates issues when the other wants to submit items. Assigning to the whole company causes field personnel like foremen, or unrelated office staff to get unnecessary notifications. Some of our larger subcontractors can have 20+ people on the project site that do not need to be linked to submittal workflows.

Adding a Submittal Coordinator role would bring value by improving quality control and keeping workflows consistent. Unlike a Manager who oversees permissions, settings, and system configuration, a Coordinator handles the day-to-day processing of submittals: reviewing for completeness, checking cross-trade coordination, assigning reviewers, and ensuring accurate routing. This separation of roles ensures strong governance (i.e., Manager) while empowering efficient workflow execution (i.e., Coordinator), creating clearer accountability throughout the submittal process.

It would be nice to be able to add more than 6 review steps for an RFI or Submittal Review Template. We have come across a few situations, especially on mega projects with large teams involving designers, construction managers, document controls, and subs, where being able to add more than 6 review steps would be incredibly beneficial, to distinguish between each layer. We've had to modify our ideal workflows to conform to the ACC platform limitation.

It would be very beneficial to be able to name / rename a workflow step in Submittals or RFIs, during a review workflow. So, rather than it being "Review Step 01", etc., you could name it "Design Project Manager - Initial Review" or something like that, where you could name each step specifically with who and what each step in the workflow correlates with. This way you can distinguish in the platform who is responsible / what is occurring in the step more quickly when you go look at a Submittal / RFI, without having to have each workflow template memorized.

My team would like the ability to begin review of submittal items and be able to save all comments and markups and then return to it at a later time to finish the review prior to submitting. Some submittal items are upwards of 100 pages and it is a lot to sit down and do the full review and submit the response. Having the ability to save the in progress review and then returning would be greatly beneficial.

If you use AutoSpec, it creates individual submittal items under for a spec section (product data, warranties, shop drawings, etc.). If the Responsible Contractor has multiple items in a single PDF file being sent in for review, they have do one of the following: -attach the same PDF to each item and submit them -the person creating the submittal entries has to combined from the start -they have to break each type out (not typically possible) in its own PDF file. It would be helpful to be able to bulk submit one PDF that covers multiple items, so the reviewers don't have to review the same file multiple times. I would think that packaging would be the ideal thing for this, but currently that only creates an association for them as a reference point in Submittals and doesn't bind them together for a single review. Maybe the current packaging feature should be changed to associate similar item/system with something Asset based, and then repurpose the packaging to allow bundling of submittal items together so one PDF/file can be reviewed for multiple items.

When the responsible contractor goes into a Submittal they are responsible for, they can edit the information in the 'General Information' fields. There should be a permission or way to prevent people from changing this if they did not create the item.

I am aware of the current submittal limitation whereby, during the review process, we are unable to download attachments in bulk. We must download each document manually, which is highly inefficient, especially when there are more than 20 documents uploaded. Please consider enhancing this feature to improve ease of use and support smoother project workflows in ACC.

Summary: In Autodesk Build Submittals, it is currently not possible to download all attachments in a submittal at once. Each file must be downloaded individually, and the Submittal Report export does not package or include the actual files, only hyperlinks. This creates significant workflow challenges for QA/QC processes, consultants, and client-facing deliverables. Problem Description: Submittals frequently include multiple drawings, datasheets, certificates, method statements, calculations, test reports, and other material documents. These files need to be reviewed, archived, and shared with consultants or owners as a complete submission package. However, Autodesk Build currently allows only single-file download, which becomes extremely time-consuming for large submittals. Additionally: The PDF submittal report export does not include the attached files Only links appear in the report, forcing recipients to manually download files one by one This prevents teams from delivering a complete and consistent submittal package It increases the risk of missing documents and slows down approval workflows This behavior affects every discipline (Architectural, Structural, MEP, QA/QC, Procurement, PMC, Consultants, and Owners). Why This Feature Is Needed: A simple “Download All Attachments” button would solve multiple workflow bottlenecks: Enable exporting a complete submittal package in one action Facilitate external submissions to owners, consultants, and authorities Improve audit and compliance workflows Reduce manual work and human error Align with common industry expectations for document control platforms Most construction management platforms provide bulk download capability for submittal attachments, as it is fundamental for document control operations. Proposed Solution: Add a “Download All Attachments” button within the Submittal interface, which: Zips all attached files Includes a manifest.txt or index.json (optional) Matches file names and order as displayed in the UI Can be triggered by any user with download permissions Optional Enhancement: Allow Submittal Report export (PDF) to include a zipped folder of attachments as part of the export package. Impact: Implementing this feature will drastically improve submittal handling, speeding up review cycles and ensuring complete and accurate documentation delivery for all stakeholders.
