To install or not Tools and Utilities in Bld'g Suite Premium 2013?

Hello,

Thanks in advance for any advice.

We just installed the Autodesk Building Design Suite on (2) computers that are networked and I am not familiar with the Tools and Utilities install how to's and their exact purpose?

Any information and or suggestions would be appreciated.

Please note that I do not have windows server and our setup is a typical unc path to the host. The host is also the 2nd computer that some one works on for now.  Plans are to add another computer in the near future and leave the host alone.

Thanks,

bluicat

You do not need to install them on the client machines.  Just install your deployment and you will be set.

You really only need the utilities for your license manager, etc.

HI,

I did not use the deployment method when I installed the program. I simply checked all programs and installed them.

We use a unc path for projects, materials, etc..., I don't know if that is the same sort of thing that happens when you choose deployment?

I do plan on importing to Navisworks does the utilities and tools help with this part?

Is there any reason at this point to uninstall and start over using the deployment method?

Thanks,

bluicat

You shouldn't need them.  I wouldn't worry about it for the client installs.
