Revit network license "package"

I just got a license file for Revit 2009 and I noticed a series of lines in
the license file for "package" and it precedes the increment line. Is this
something new with the 2009 license files?

The package line includes the previous versions of Revit going back to
revit_8.
Does this mean that this one license file will recognize other verisons of
revit as well as the current version?

Yes it is for N-3 version. New subscription program with 2009.
You don't have to ask licence for previous version.

Well that's nice of them, but how do I supply only the license versions I want? We used to announce that users had 30 days to transition to new products, then we disabled the old license to force it. I can't do that anymore?

Hi,

You can use an option file and use the option reserve or exclude to do this.

Thanks Franck;
I also was able to get Autodesk to issue non-inclusive licenses with another phone call. They have to be specifically requested, and the license agents aren't sure how to do it at first, but some with some insisting you can get what you want.

The package will allow you to open previous network releases of the same products. Like Revit Architecture 2009, Revit Architecture 2008, Revit Architecture ...

I hope that you have found this helpful.
