Multi-Site CAD/Revit File Access and Management

Hi all:

Could I get some feedback on how you folks are handling situations where you have several users across several physically distant sites that need to simultaneously access the same CAD and Revit files.

I have a situation coming up pretty soon where I'll need to have multiple people in multiple sites be able to work on the same file with these files averaging 40-60MB (Revit files specifically). I have a couple of thoughts on how to do this, but I wanted to get feedback from the group before I bring forth my thoughts for comments.

Any ideas? Let's assume cost isn't a factor.

You need a data management system such as Vault or SourceSafe and a network accelerator solution such as Riverbed. There are many posts about that here and in the CAD Managers forum.

You may want to look into WAN accelerators, such as Riverbed's Steelhead
series: www.riverbed.com . We're using a couple and have been very happy
with them. No Revit until later this year, but they substantially speed up
dwg access.
