I am having problem with client deployment of AutoCAD 2006. It starts but after seeing "Installing DWG viewer.." it just quits.
When I look at the log file it shows the following:

Anyone has any idea ? Thanks in advance for any reply.

First, I would try cleaning out the TEMP folder in that user's profile. Also be sure that the user has local Administrator access on that machine.

In addition, your MSI 3.1.4000.1823 is known to be problematic and has been pulled by Microsoft. You may want to go into Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the MSI 3.1 Update. This should take you back to MSI 3.0 -- if not, the ACAD 2006 package will install it for you anyway.

Error 1619 are usually because of permission problems. So make sure the user has full rights to the machine, the install folder, and that the share has read/write access. Don't forget to reboot.

Good luck.

It looks like the network deployment wizard somehow translated the
network path \\Jan\c\acad 2006 to C:\acad 2006\. I've sometimes seen
this kind of auto-translation happen in Windows, especially when trying
to create network shortcuts to local resources.

Did you create the deployment on the same PC as you were running the
wizard on? As a workaround, try creating the deployment on a different
PC, or running the deployment wizard on a different PC and creating the
image on \\Jan\c\

I have been having this exact problem for the past week. For some strange
reason, it fixed itself today. All I did was step through the deployment
wizard again, as I have several times in the past week. For whatever
reason, this time was magical. The only thing I can think of is that there
must have been some network condition that contributed to this. Don't ask
me what, though...

I believe I had a similar problem with a test install to a laptop
workstation some time ago.

The solution was to do a NET USE first and either run the file using the UNC
server network name (I don't think this was it) or ensure that the necessary
original Mapped drives were re-mapped correctly and re-run the install.

The solution was basically to ensure that all the network connections needed
were available. I could probably dig up the exact error number I received
from the log file on the laptop at some point.

Additionally the socks service for the proxy had to be stopped on the laptop
to actually obtain a license. The product will install with it running
though.
