Explained Reason/Problem: Currently if you open the latest revision of a dwg file, Vault will open it no problem. But if that same user tries to also open Rev B while rev C is still open, the program doesn't do anything or just displays the current version of the file that is already open. This is confusing to non-everyday users. They don't know that you have to Save As rev C, then open Rev B so they can compare differences. (In this case the revision block wasn't detailed enough.)   Suggestion: If you have opened a Rev C of a dwg. Then you want to open a Rev B version too. Please add a way for Vault to automatically assign the older revision a temporary file name.   How: Have Vault detect if the file the user is trying to open is a historical version. It would automatically download that file as the same file name but with a Rev X on the end. X being whatever revision it's stored as. Show More

The icons colors of Inventor 2020 files are blue. In Vault basic, the icon color of « copy » from Copy Design is blue. So, it’s complicated to see the difference. It causes errors during Copy Design.   Can you change the colors of Copy Design icons? (Not blue please).   Please check the attached picture. Show More

Hello   Ability to dynamically disable custom commands based on the entity selected in the Vault Client. For the user experiance it is not possible to disable custom commands if the selected entity does not fulfill criteria necessary so the command can run.   example: A custom command that wants to edit an entity cannot run if this entity is locked for editing. example: A custom command may not be able to run if certain UDPs don't have required values.   Interesting thing: The Vault client's build in command Change State is disabled if the selected entity is locked for editing.   BR, Thomas   Show More

Hello,   Could you add powershell script, on transition in lifecycle, please? If the result of the script is true => no restriction / if false => restriction. Let the script sending back a custom message to show to the user.   The script must be stored on server-side (to avoid problem if the user remove it on the client side). Another alternative, store it on a network share if easier or in a Vault folder.   The script must be disable for debug purpose (without deleting it).   With this solution we could address those needs: - check if an add-in exist or not on the computer - develop simple check (for example does partnumber is equal to a scheme xxx-xxx-xxx, etc.) - informed the user  - etc.   Thanks in advance.     Show More

Hello A great job was done on Vault 2018.2 update - now we can process LifeCycleState events for ECO records. Unfortunately rollback events have not been exposed for items under ECO. The "CommandBegin event" could be used to do somthing befor an Vault Commans is executes. Hi there,   I am wanting a way to modify the colours of the file status icons in Vault (circled in red below).       We have a designer that is red/green color blind so he struggles to see the difference between these currently.   Our CAD re-seller has sent me the links to http://underthehood-autodesk.typepad.com/blog/2010/09/can-i-get-that-font-in-cornflower-blue.html and http://underthehood-autodesk.typepad.com/blog/2010/11/vault-cad-add-in-font-color-mods.html. Vault now has an option to retry failed Job Processor jobs. This is a welcomed new feature, but it doesn't always work in context of custom jobs that a failure may be the desired outcome.    It would be beneficial if the function to retry failed jobs automatically added and incremented a job parameter such as "retry attempts" with the number of times the job has been resubmitted to the queue.     We can then read that parameter in our custom job processor code to decide if we want the job to proceed or not based on the job type and value of the count.  Show More

Can we investigate getting the large black icons removed or minimized somehow?    We get tickets for driving our cars with the windshield obscured in my state.   I am running Inventor 2023 in conjunction with Vault Pro 2023. I did not fully understand the question in the first thread I started regarding what browser I am using. (Image below) My use is directly in Vault Pro 2023.   It would be nice if there were some sort of behavior that could be set like the MS Windows task bar that can be set to automatically hide or some such?   I will also say that it seems like it takes considerably longer for the Forge images to load in the Vault Preview window that the old Autodesk Viewer did.   Thanks in advance, Bill Hamlin     Show More

In our world we have ended up with a couple of different Vaults. Mostly due to DOD work and the fact that we also have foreign national advisers within the engineering groups. But also with the DOD work, we need to segregate who can access the Vault that this work is being done on.   Our workspace is a single Vault project environment and that project file runs both vaults. So the directory structures are the same and the main original Vault still holds all of the Template/Design Standard type of stuff.   For most Engineers, they are assigned to a certain area and then just need to make sure they are logged into the correct Vault to start with. As long as they have selected auto log in they will always return to that Vault per their profile.   In managing these, I have to come in and out of them as needed. There have been many times that I have push incorrect information into the wrong Vault and had to redirect what I have done. Nothing major but is has happened.   Now in Vault Explorer it is very easy to tell the Vault you are logged into through the interface.   However in the application add-ins, Vault and Excel as an example, I do not see a way to know what Vault is logged into.   My method at this point is to log out and back in to make sure of the proper Vault connection.   I would like to see some indication from the application add-ins that shows what Vault is currently connected to.         Show More
