Is it possible to set the manual Change Revision button/command to an Admin only use? We have users (and I've seen this elsewhere) that will use this option to change the Revision of files as opposed to going through the proper lifecycle set and have Vault control/change the revision. This has, at times caused numerous issues when done by a typical user. Controlling this to a user with Admin rights would save a lot of headaches.

When doing a Copy Design, it would be helpful to have a thumbnail image of each part, especially when doing multiple parts or large assemblies. That way you can see exactly what part(s) you need to Copy Design and what part(s) you can reuse.

At the moment it is only possible to get to the (manually downloaded and added to folder structure) offline help when the workplace is completely offline. Even if the offline help is installed, when the workplace has access to internet, the online help website is always opened. It should definitely give an option to change that, should be super easy to implement. Thank you for your Votes Florian ZF

When checking out a file from Inventor while using Vault Pro, the check out dialog is not visible, and checks out all children by default. This is a huge issue in offices where multiple people are working with the same dataset as the person work on the file in the highest tree checks out the rest of the tree by default. A few releases ago (I think due mostly to my complaining about it), control of the child switch was exposed in the Vault options. This gives the user control over whether they check out children or not, but it is buried in the Vault Options - so there are many clicks to adjust it. Please bring back the Check Out dialog so we can adjust it on the fly. I believe this dialog still exists in Vanilla Vault.

We need the ability in VAULT to copy also dwt files (template files from AutoCAD).

We are using Vault Prof 2013 so if this functionality is in a newer release please let me know. We would like to restrict users with Item Editor (Level 2) role permission from checking the "Skip Revision Bump" option when changing the state of the item. We tried testing with Item Editor (Level 1) but then users could not change the state of the item at all. I would suggest adding a new role, Item Editor (Level 3) which would be the same as Item Editor (Level 2) is currently and make Item Editor (Level 2) the same as Level 3 but without access to the "Skip Revision Bump" option.

Copy Design... Duplicate file names, rename in session without impact. Recent Scenario Invoke Copy Design Starting the process using top level drawing, Rename... the process found a duplicate idw User attempted to rename the duplicate to something else but was unable to do so. Copy Design completely stopped It would be great if Copy Design identified duplicate filenames and allowed corrective action during the process. In this scenario, the user was unable to complete copy design and had to kill the process and start over. There must be a better way.... If this is an error on the users part, then where can I find the corrective steps? Nothing in Vault General form on this.

Enabling the browsing of Vault folders during operations such as Copy Design would be helpful in determining locations and available file names. This would basically make the Copy Design or other operation window independent. Other examples of operation windows that could be independent are: change orders, edit items, etc.

Sometimes user needs to purge one particular version of Item. Instead command available only to administarator and harms all the history. This causes situation like this - http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Vault-General/There-is-no-lifecycle-state-to-roll-back-to-Item-state-is/td-p/5016808. Please make command available for users and add some options to choose between (at least user should have ability to brawse what he deletes before he will accept the action).

I will like to see, option reset displayname or = filename like part number. We have some problems when copy custom part from content center like “structural shapes” It is showing the old filename in the displayname Handling inventor properties, Reset/change Revision Number set to example “-“or “ “ Reset/Change Author and Designer to the user that make the copy Reset/Change custom properties to “ ”.
