Currently, if you use the simple search in the CAD Plugin you can directly check out the items. This is not possible for the advanced search. If you use the advanced search you have to download the file and then you have to check it out. It would improve the workflow if you could directly check the item out.  Show More

eBOM is not updated when saving a Solidworks drawing, it is only updated when saving the 3D Data or assembly. It would be a nice a addition if the Solidworks plugin had an option that could be activated/deactivated to also update the eBOM when saving drawings. For example, when saving a drawing you could receive a message. "eBOM doesn't match cBOM, do you want to update it?" Yes or No Show More

On Solidworks plugin, with the new Bom Wizard we have lost the ability to name the item name during item creation. The name of the item is by default the Cad filename, which is not always convenient. It would be great when you come across an issue to be able to just hit a button within the CAD plugin that opens up a new help ticket window. When releasing an item with a drawing, any view on the drawing with "Display Style" set to "Shaded with Edges" or "Shaded" becomes a line drawing in the released PDF. (Solidworks). Is this due to limitations of the DWG to PDF conversion? If a drawing is saved or checked in, that PDF translation looks correct and has shading. Shading is important to us. We use shaded views on the most of our drawings. The shading helps identify surface texture specification, cable colors, and helps to visualize complex products. Please add support for shaded views so that the PDF translations look like the native drawing. When loading Assemblies, many times the validation error screen shows the request to update CAD components to the latest development version. Keeping an item with the released version is not an error, and it's dangerous in our company to change it so easily for the version in development.   Very often this is not a desired behavior if the component that is being tried to be replaced is in released status and the plugin tries to change it to a version in development status that might not be ready to be released.   Because this screen appears many times we would like to differentiate between loading new version of an item in development status, and changing items that are in released status with versions that are in development status.   Because of this behavior we end up updating components by accident that we would like an option to disable replacing items in released status for newer versions in development automatically. A lot of new users check-in their CAD files without create item. The workflow to correct this is complex for nothing. During the first check in, it could be very useful that the CAD plug-in have a pop-up box that show "No items created, Would you like to create item during check-in". Show More

Upchain recently introduced support for attaching DraftSight DWG files to items in Upchain. During our testing, we encountered a few issues with the handling of these DraftSight DWGs upon release. If these areas can be addressed, it would be possible to fully utilize the Upchain CAD Connector plugin for these files. The DraftSight DWG files should be attached to the Drawing tab of the item, rather than the CBOM tab. The custom properties of these DraftSight DWG files should be updated during check-ins and releases, just like how Upchain updates DWG files from AutoCAD. This has a direct impact on the Item version updates on the title blocks of these dwg files. During Change Request (CR) workflows, the system primitive for the 'GPS Create PDF' task should include these DWG files and generate PDF translations for them. The resulting PDFs should then be attached to the newly released version of the item. Show More

Current Behaviour: When cloning an assembly with the CAD Plugin, it won't be opened when an NRXXXXXXX.iam file is already in the home folder. The assembly IS modified in the background, though. (See attached video) Example: If the first time you clone the assembly and select all components to be cloned, and the second time you select only one or two, the NRXXXXXXX.iam IS modified, but it won't be opened and also no message comes up. So it might be confusing for users.   Desired Behavoiur:  When an assembly is cloned, it should be opened in a new tab in Inventor, no matter if a NRXXXXXXX.iam file already exists or not.  Show More

In the Solidworks CAD plugin when adding a revision note, all-uppercase letters are forced by the software, which is the standard we use. However, currently when creating a CR, a user can write in lowercase and Upchain will not force uppercase. This ends up with drawings having lowercase revision notes, which is undesirable. The plugin and webapp should behave the consistently such that a user does not assume block caps will be forced automatically when they won't be.    Show More

When files on local disk are not the latest, upon cBOM refresh Upchain gives a prompt to fix the validation errors. When clicked yes, follow up pop up notifying user that assembly will be closed and reopened is displayed.    Please make this prompt to stay on top of Solidworks always. As of now when this pop is displayed, if I click anywhere in Solidworks window, the pop up gets pushed into background.  Show More

I accidentally closed a project because closing projects became task for me in the CAD plugin.  Why is the ability to close a project present, as a task no less, inside the plugin?  Also there are no warnings or details what the assignment is for unless you're an Upchain pro and recognize the nomenclature.  This ability to close project outside of the web app should be removed immediately and definitely shouldn't be a task to complete.  Attached is a screen shot showing all the projects to close in the CAD plugin.    Show More

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error shows up when an attempt is made to open an electro mechanical item without CAD data.    This request is to make the error message more clear and simple like "No CAD attached to this XXXXXXX.XX.XX.XXX item".   Also not sure why the right click > open button is active for an item without CAD.  Show More

the issue. If you select an item that has multiple instances in the BOM, all instances are selected. Deselecting one item does not deselect all instances. This is incorrect as all items should be deselected. If one or more items remain selected, all instances are cloned. This is incorrect and confuses the user. Desired behaviour. deselecting an item that is referenced more than once in an assembly would deselect all its references. this would eliminate the possibility of errors. give the user a warning that deselecting the element will not clone anything. with advice to use copy and replace. In Solidworks plugin, if there is a suppressed child item that is checked out, it will block the checkin of the parent item giving an error (screenshot attached).   Upchain should be capable of handling these checkins better. It is obvious that when a user is trying to checkin the parent, all checked out child items also should be checked in, even if it is suppressed. So the plugin should be capable of looking at such child items, initiate a checkin for the suppressed child item and then checkin the parent.   Show More

While in the solidworks Plugin, while using the Item Tab, sometimes a user will want to check out an Item that they have active in Solidworks but the Item Tab won't let them.  The Checkout buttons are not displayed and their is no indicator why.    This can be quite frustrating for some users and usually results in a bug ticket getting submitted.   We have had this logged as an issue for years now (long enough for it to have been migrated from ZenDesk to Salesforce ticketing and now asked to create an Idea for it)   The reason that they can't check out that Item is because their local file is not the latest version.   If they go to the bom tab and refresh it will promt them that the file is out of date as well has highlight that item in tree with a different color.  They don't always want to use the bom tab because it can take considerable time to load for larger items when they only want to work with the one item (which is why the Item tab was developed)   Request: Add highlighting and tool tips to the Item Tab when the file version is out of date so that the user knows they are working with an out of date version (which is important), and it will clue them in to why the edit buttons are missing (they should not be able to easily checkout an out of date version) Show More

I noticed that there's a Item number tab in the top of the new Bom Wizard window. From testing, it seems like a way for users to define the item number for new items. Our users shouldnt be doing that. Can you introduce a way for the tenant admin to disable it? Show More
