Contractors are always asking for the door frame throat dimension (or wall thickness) in the door schedule. Walls report their thickness, doors know what walls they are in. Seems like an easy thing to make happen.
As a workaround, you could maybe create this a a parameter in the family, thereby having to create a new type every time you have a new wall thickness.
Since the functionality is already there, maybe this idea could be changed to "include 'Core Thickness' and 'Wall Thickness' shared reporting parameters in OOTB Door & Window families"?
