Text Length Parameter

Text Length Parameter

Allow text blocks to have a parametrically defined length. Labels and text fields often have varying text lengths, and it would be nice to allow for different graphic lengths depending on placement and surrounding conditions.

Second this, it is evidently there as you have drag boxes the API guy's just need to make it available to the user to parameter.

Also want to second this and give it a bit of a bump. Seems like a basic feature that could help immensely  with making annotations more clear and user-friendly.

This would be great, to allow selecting all text boxes on a sheet / view and set the length to be matching -- rather than having to adjust every one of them manually, as we do currently.

Bump - This needs to happen. Would open up so many possibilities

It would be great if it would possible to add a length parameter to the size if the text boxes or labels. Or at least align it to reference planes so that they flex.

I want to create an annotation family with text notes inside of a box. and I would like to adjust the box and when i adjust the box, I want the text to adjust as well. What we have to do now is to manually adjust the text box to fit in the box.

I hope that I am clear in my explanation..

Autodesk need to get on this. At the min the work around i use is 2 tags in the same family. one long one short. then have visibility parameters to switch them off/on. its not perfect but the best of the options available with current revit limitations. just once you start introducing different sizes of tag and a left sided tag or a right sided tag depending which side the text is on in details. Your tag family starts to become complex.

We have standard notes that we use on plans and we have created generic annotation families to address this. This is especially necessary when changes are made to notes and need to be carried across many plans and it enables us to just reload the annotation family. From time to time we need the "family/note block" be stretched to a different size just as you would do with standard text. Can this functionality be added to stretch generic annotation/text families? Or does this functionality exist, and I've never seen it?

Yes! I have wanted this so many times. Right now I want to make a shadow box note detail component.

This needs to be fixed!! Ideally to be able to drag tag width visually after placement like a text note. Or to choose to associate width to Instance/type parameter in family editor.

Definitely need this - I would have thought autodesk would have picked this up in the past 6 years! We currently have 6 different keynote family types just to achieve this (Left-aligned small, medium and large and right-aligned small medium and large).
