It´s still unbelievable that we users paid tons of money in this program and created so many funny workaround just because the software´s company refused to optimize their product?!
I guess they do have time for other things than optimizing the software because I got constant request for contact for selling this mega expensive BIM 360 product. At the same time our decision-maker wanted to switch from Revit to Archicad because people complained way too much about its functionality.
There are so many things wrong with Revit, where I can understand that it takes quite a while to fix things and am therefore willing to cut them some slack. But how they've managed to ignore this issue for this long when it seems to be a relatively simple fix, is beyond me.
Here, like in many other areas, Autodesk are just proving once again that they don't give a carp about their users. Only their users' cash.
@ArniVidar No joke, its again monopolism. I think more than 80% of global largescale building projects are operating in /with REVIT and I like REVIT too.
But actually you have no real competitor and for the long run this couldnt be a good idea 😦
Allegedly the parameters are getting sorted by its ElementID in revits database and therefore newer added parameters will be at the end of the list..
With my minimal experience in programming, i can not imagine this beeing much more but a simple "fix" to make it sort by the strings (A-Z) or if they want to really go all-out give full control of manually sorting.
But any response from Autodesk would be much appreciated explaining why this would not be the case....
Revit now I feel like an old car, some problems remain for years but it can still run. It makes annoying noise but experienced drivers know where to kick to shut it down. But some day I will abandon this car. I want a new one.
And I believe Revit already has some competitors. I wish they could develop a better user oriented software, even if I really like the powerful things Revit can handle.
But yeah Autodesk get your **** toghether this bug fix is so easy to repair. And it should be even a thing to put on a roadmap no it should just be fixed imidiatly with an update.
I was happy with Revit 2022 update but the sad thing actually is. That we are happy with minor updates wich actually should just have been bugfixes like years ago.
Still glad they hired some communication people who actually read our idea's here. Althoug a lot of them are not idea's but stuff that needs to be fixed.
This is yet another example of a basic functionality bug that should have been fixed years ago. New features are all well and good. But, what we really need is for the core program to work the way it should consistently and efficiently. I don't mind that these inconsistencies and inefficiencies get overlooked initially. I do mind that they still aren't addressed like SIX VERSIONS later! I waste way too much time figuring out workarounds for things that should be basic core functions!
For my little fun I'm using "LOOKUP", it sorted projectparameters alphabetically, so I think it should be easy as you said earlier to implement it in REVIT ( Screenshot Germanversion )
