Currently the only way to add or customize the mapping for SHX text from AutoCAD to Revit is to go into the "shxfontmap.txt" file and add line items to it. As a result, this means our firm has to create an additional step for deployment of new versions of Revit to include overwriting the out-of-the-box txt file. It looks like that default file was last modified in August, 2010.
Would it be possible to add a user interface on a by project basis that is more user friendly for SHX mapping? An ideal place would be in the Import Line Weights dialog box; perhaps as a secondary tab. This way it would function in a similar manner to the DWG/DXF Color Number and Line Weight, and could be exported to a .txt file (or perhaps loaded).
