Sheets / Title Block Schedule - Parameters

Sheets / Title Block Schedule - Parameters

If possible to add Title Block parameters to Sheet Schedule, then would be able to control visibility parameters through the Schedule, making it much easier to coordinate. Also being able to read Sheet Parameters on Title Block parameters formulas would make Revit a lot more powerful.

Or alternatively, being able equal instance parameters to parameters from other categories in the project environment, where one could then read instance project parameters as opposed to global parameters.

I cannot remember how they do this, but I have seen it before with some of my ideas. It is not always the header of ideas is given for what a person wish.

How many millions more of votes do Autodesk need until they respond to this thread and let us know whether or not they're planning on doing something about this.

Just another very sad oversight by Autodesk...

This idea should not have gotten rejected/archived as it is almost identical to several more popular ideas and therefore should have been merged. It is frustrating to see good ideas get unnecessarily diluted.

Hello @sasha.crotty and @kimberly_fuhrman-jones, could you please help us feel heard and merge the following:

This is not the first request for doing this. Please see also comments that request merging similar/related ideas by @RobertAGlover and @lola.carbajal

There are possibly many more older ideas lost somewhere in this forum.

@Joey_JM Thank you. I totally agree with you. In fact in a recent survey Autodesk sent out I gave a long expounding on exactly that point! The Idea station needs constant curating and tending. I think I speak for most users when I say it feels like Autodesk doesn't listen to us. I will say that in recent weeks I've heard some news that makes me think maybe they are listening, at least a little. We'll see how the next couple months go. But I don't expect any major changes. Thanks again, and keep fighting the good fight.

Yes please, title block family/type in sheet schedules would be very useful.

I am currently getting to grips with using the PyRevit add-in (seems excellent) which includes a very useful tool to select and swap multiple titleblocks, in case anyone finds this useful https://github.com/eirannejad/pyRevit/releases.

There is a way to add a parameter that auto-populates with a Dynamo script!

Would love to be able to schedule title blocks and/or the ability to access additional sheet/title block parameters. I know there are workarounds with Dynamo scripts but seems like something that should be readily available OOTB.

For example, a title block often has an instance parameter to turn a north point symbol off or on. Some sheets need the north point, others don't, the only way currently (OOTB) to control this is manually go into every single individual sheet. Frustrating that the north point parameter can't just be scheduled.

The answer to 'how many votes / ideas does it take for Autodesk to do anything' is: All of them, and it still won't be enough.

The last post here (above this one):

This is an issue I've have to spend a lot of time dealing with, I spent hours yesterday (getting frustrated by the need to do every sheet) trying to figure this out yesterday, because it seems stupid that it can't be done as we would think it should be done, only to have it confirmed that it isn't possible to do it.

We're asking for basic functionality, year after year...as others, including major clients have said, users are paying a premium for software that is lagging in development, with features from the 1990's, that requires time consuming workarounds to compensate.

Autodesk, please stop listening to the accountants and start listening to your customers.

Why on earth have these when they are not available and usable inside sheet list and title block labels?

@kimberly.furhman

7 years and 210 votes to get 'on the roadmap'? Let no one say Autodesk isn't actively listening to their customers and responding to their needs (/s)

Because if they were, then surely this one would be considered: Complex Line Types  , with a mere 2119 votes (at present) and 8 years  (I know it's really over 10 years but that is just that thread taken in isolation).

Or this one: Allow text in formulas , a mere 7.5 years and 953 votes, would have been considered.

Or some of the others that have been around 10 years or more

We really really need this.

We are pleased to say that this has been implemented in Revit 2026! Thank you for your contribution to improving Revit!
