Select by Sheet Collections

I have a project that has multiple on a site and as such I need a title block per building. Sheet collections have been set up for each building.   I had to update the title blocks for the sets.  The architect set up the title block family to have the various and I had to go to each sheet to select the title blocks and the switch the title blocks to the correct family type per sheet collection.  To be clear I opened each sheet and then started selecting title blocks while holding control to get all title blocks in a sheet collection in one fell swoop, which is still tedious.

The feature request will speed this up.  When you select a family and right click, and go down to select all instances, under that flyout there are 3 options.  The 4th option needs to be, select all by sheet collections, so that families with sheet collections can be selected without having to open every sheet in the collection to select and change the title block family.

Alternatively or in combination (I've not tested this), if we could Schedule which Titleblock Family/Type is being used on a particular Sheet, and also Schedule what Sheet Collection a Sheet is included in, this could help too!

We need a schedule that could report and edit witch title blocks are being used (and they could be more than one titleblock per sheet - we do that to have the standard sheet frame and the titleblock of the sepecific project separated) and also to have their properties acessible without them having to be project parameters (only shared).

What was changing on the titleblocks? You can modify them to read parameters in the collections rather than the typical project parameters, so say the block reads an address parameter that's associated with the parameters. That way you aren't changing all of the families, the families are just reading the appropriate information.

The example is the title blocks only, but this idea could also be used to change entire family types within the collections.   An example would be say on bldg 1  the client wants all the downlights changed to a different style, but none of the other buildings would have their downlights changed.  there are more examples I can come up with.

For my specific project, the architect modified his title block to have multiple types (of a single family) for the various addresses of the buildings on site, and their names.  So I could waste my some of my project fee on adjusting their (or creating more) parameters, or a more efficient solution can be coded in. 

parameters are irrelevant for selecting all families instances by collections, which is the main idea.   In being on the MEP side of things, often times we are forced to adapt to the architect(s), not ideal, but it is what it is.

Titleblocks can have keymaps with zoning - so each sheet could have a diferent zone activiated/visible. The setup could be on/of or a dropdown list if it made by nested family types. Ether way, I would like to easely check witch sheet has witch option and correct if need be. Be that by easely selecting or by a more user friendly schedule, or another tool entirely. There are a lot of people asking for improvements like this.

Couple of things. 

1) The way Sheet Collections work now, you wouldn't be able to change model elements via collection because those are two completely unrelated things. Sheet collections have nothing to do with the model itself. They are only a way to manage the sheets, such as if you have multiple phases in a project or have your arch, structural, MEP drawings all in one model and want another layer of organization. 

2) You can accomplish what you are asking for with titleblocks by using a sheet list and sorting by collection, uncheck "itemize all instances" and then change the family and type for all of the sheets in a given collection. 

3) While this wouldn't address having zoning or areas change on a titleblock (though there have been ideas posted to allow for images to be controllable by type parameters) I'd still highly recommend using Sheet Collection parameters to control individual building addresses and things like that. While a (very) small time investment upfront, this would allow for tons of time saved in the future, as well as reducing the opportunity for mistakes to slip through.
