Schedules: Sorting/Grouping Headers and Footers

Schedules: Sorting/Grouping Headers and Footers

It would be wonderful if the user could set a text style to the header and footer options in the Sorting/Grouping tab of a schedule's Sheet List Properties. Currently this text takes the properties of the body text within a schedule. I understand that the user can set the header text style in the Appearance tab, but it would be useful to have one more step of text functionality to be able to edit the style for a sorted parameter.

My example is the following:

  • We utilize a parameter called "Discipline Order" to organize my sheets by discipline
    • ex: 8-Struct = Structural Drawings, 9-Arch = Architectural Drawings, 12-Fire = Fire Protection Drawings, 15-Elec = Electrical Drawings.
  • We utilize a parameter called "Discipline" to generate the header of each discipline
    • Here is where I'd select "Header" in the Sorting/Grouping tab (see attached).
    • I'd populate each sheet generated with it's appropriate discipline name under the column created by the use of that parameter in the schedule.
      • ex: "STRUCTURAL", "ARCHITECTURAL", "FIRE PROTECTION", "ELECTRICAL".
      • As long as these are spelled the same then they will appear on my schedule at the top of the sorted group, and I would then want this Header to appear bold and maybe even underlined to separate the text style from the actual sheets that are listed in the schedule. Take a look at the image I've attached with yellow highlights. Currently I have not control over the text style without affecting the body text simultaneously. Revit considers this Header part of the body text and it would be nice to be able to have one more text style to separate body text and headers set by a sorted parameter.

Plenty of times I've wanted to do this. It'd be a good addition.

Not exactly the level of control and flexibility you are looking for, but this is at close as it gets currently:
