I ran across the issue that I'm not allowed to schedule Wall Sweeps; I've ran into issues like this for other elements and would be nice to be able to schedule anything that is in the model.
Are you referring to wall sweeps that are embedded in the type definition? As far as I know, "normal" wall sweeps can be scheduled just like any other element?
I did mean material take offs. I was going to edit my post when I realized I had misnamed it but then it was too late and just kept it that way.
Still there are other elements that I wish we could schedule, if it's in the model it means it's going to be constructed and would want to quantify it.
Thank you pieter, that would be a great addition to Revit. All though, that post is about getting all parameters schedule; this is about getting all elements scheduled.
Even if there is a workaround (which I don't understand what you mean and it's not that kind of forum), in my opinion and the point of this post is that every object that is in the model should be directly able to be included in a schedule since it is part of the model and therefore, the construction. I mention wall sweeps because it's the latest one I've found but I've encountered other elements that aren't allowed to be scheduled.
I agree that workarounds are not a real solution, but I mention them because someone might find this topic by googling how to get their sweeps to schedule. Knowing a workaround might be really useful for them. If you convert the wall sweep to parts, the materials will schedule.
There should be a way to schedule all elements of a Revit model, since all elements have and ID assigned to them, there should be a way to list all items in one singel schedule table
