When either selecting the Reference Plane button in the ribbon, or using a keyboard command to create a reference plane, Revit should automatically highlight the offset length to allow for you to type in the offset distance without moving your cursor over there to select it. Or when you type in a new number it should automatically change the offset to that new number without having to reselect the offset distance.
It is such a small thing that would greatly improve workflow without hindering the operations of people who want to draw their offset at 0'-0". This would allow you to draw all of your reference planes without having to move your cursor back and forth across the screen for every different offset length.
