Revit would become more user friendly when it were to allow for a real-time preview of changes made to the model itself. Currently you have to "OK" out of several dialogs to be able to see changes your changes in the model. This makes editing cumbersome, and slow, next to being completely inefficient. For example, when changing a wall's structure if you want to change a sweep's material, you have to "OK" out of the Sweeps dialog, the Edit assembly dialog and hit "Accept" for the Wall types dialog.
In case a real time preview has a large impact on performance, the preview should be contained within the object that is currently edited. Accepting something on the open dialog, should allow for previewing changes directly. How come materials can be live edited in render software, but not in Revit!?
