Preserving X_Clip of Imported DWG

Preserving X_Clip of Imported DWG

When Importing an x-clipped cad file in Revit, it is required to keep the X_clip as it is.

I assume that you're talking about xclips for NESTED cad links, since you can't save an "xclip" boundary in the drawing (to be used when it gets linked in by another)?

I'd like to see that taken a step further: having it default to the current xclip would be fine, but I'd like to have control over the crop independently of the view's main Crop Region (and actually for the main/parent cad file, not just nested links).

I just had this issue and support suggested I vote for this. My problem was importing an xclip dwg into revit (Revit does not recognize clips.)

My workaround with 2017 was to publish as a pdf then use the importpdf to bring it back in. This way you get all your colors and layers. While it does introduce a small error it's better than having to manually clip all those reference drawings (100's) every time the architect sends us an update.
