I use phases in several of the projects I work on. An improvement that would be very useful is the use of phases with detail components.
When I work on a demolition project, I first draw the demolition detail. It would be very practical to be able to assign a phase to the detail components (distinguishing kept and demolished components). I would then duplicate this view with details in order to reuse the kept components that are assigned to the existing phase and add new components assigned to the construction phase.
If I use this method, I have to keep hiding in both phases the different components. This makes my work very long and increases the risk of errors.
I was wondering if anyone has created detail items with some kind of "phasing" element built into them. We currently have different line types set up in some of our Detail Item families for Demo, Existing and New and the person who created them is using yes/no parameters to show the different line types. If there is text in the family, that is stacked and using yes/no parameters as well.
I did one where I set up different line types, but that took a while. I set it up to show New, Demo, and Existing. Although it worked, it would also have to be done per family. I want to know if there is a filter/parameter I can set up within the detail components that can phase the components accordingly and also be transferred to all other detail components. Without having to draw three different phased per component.
