Phase Visibility Control via View Filters

Using phase filters to control the appearance of elements is archaic and limiting and confusing. View Filters have come very far and View Templates have as well so now it's time to let us control the appearance of element's phase status via View Filters along with so many other things. You should be able to select current phase, any prior phase, or a specific phase in the filter and then control appearance for those filtered elements just like you would any other View Filter.

Yep, this is basically useless because of the lack of support of phasing for Revit MEP

But it's a great opportunity to fix that bigger problem which has been plaguing Revit users forever!

This has taken 6 years to be implemented. It is finally here in Revit 2022.

They've barely acknowledged it so far, so I would not hold my breath unfortunately. Maybe in 1-5 years if we're very lucky, maybe never if we look at historical trends.

SamuelAB, The response from an Autodesk employee stated it would be available in the 2022 version if memory serves me correctly.

Revit 2022 just came out and it is still not fixed. They would've updated all the "Ideas" board and probably gloated about it a as well.

Last time Autodesk acknowledged it publicly was 2017 and the Product Line Manager for Revit MEP basically said it was not really being looked at. He's been silent on the issue ever since and weève not goten any update from AD.

I would encourage anyone having this problem to sign up to the Autodesk Beta's Revit program and try the new BETA proposed solution. Your feedback will help craft a more rounded solution that meets the needs of the industry.

In Revit 2022:

- View Tab

- Filters

- Filter Rules (now include)

  - Phase Demolished

  - Phase Created

So you can now control the visibility of items based on their phase.

That was implemented during release and was noted in this topic at the time. What is the purpose of the "gathering support" from 11-11-2021 and the "implemented" from 11-21-2021? Phasing right now for MEP is still garbage. Are these status changes refering to this? I haven't seen any updates that include fixes for this. Is this refering to whatever is being tested in the beta?

I think there was an accident on the forum a few weeks ago that caused some implemented ideas to reset back to "gathering support".

Phasing and MEP is indeed an issue but there are specific Revit ideas for that, of which the most popular (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/all-system-ed-elements-maintain-their-connection-after-be...) has been accepted. So there's definitely some movement on that front.

Enable you could also choose a future phase in the phase filter.
