Nested Generic Annotations Hidden by Hidden Lines and Coordination Discipline

Nested Generic Annotations Hidden by Hidden Lines and Coordination Discipline

Generic annotations that are nested in families should not be visible when the view's model display is set to hidden line and discipline is set to coordination. This would be helpful when creating roof plans for multi-roof buildings. It would be very easy to create roof plans by making the view range show the entire model and using these settings.

Currently the generic annotations still show up, which feels like a bug.

I know you can deal with multi-roof building using plan regions, but this would simply be easier.

Annotation visibility is controlled by making the symbols only be visible in Course Detail and then setting the View to Medium or Fine Detail.

Does that fix your issue?

This idea has nothing to do with controlling the visibility of generic annotation families on a family to family basis. It has to do with generic annotation families not being hidden by objects in front of them from the perspective of the view. That is why hidden lines and the coordination discipline is mentioned in the idea.

I've never understood this either.  Why are generic annotations not hidden by a roof, a floor above, anything above the level of the nested generic annotation?  But why just in Coordination discipline?  Why not in any discipline view?

I thought for sure this idea had to already be out there but I can't find it either, how has nobody before now thought to put this into an idea!?!?  If someone can find it, let Kimberly know, but otherwise, I'm hoping this one goes far!
