I just realized that using BX on a selected level does nothing. This idea is to correct that. Found this in Revit 2025.4. So it may already be healed. Perhaps this is something that can be included in the coming release?
So you would select a Level either in 3d or an Elevation or a Section cut and be able to select BX (or use the Ribbon button) and get the 3d view with the section box automatically set to that level? Interesting... what would the top constraint be? I'm thinking the next level up? I like it.
It's possible to adjust a 3D to an existing floor plan. If you select the view cube in 3D and use the context menu, you are able to select a floor plan. The selection box is then set to the view range of the floor plan. Isn't that the feature you're looking for?
@Daniel.Elbers I would consider that a possible work around. Depending on the sheer number of levels and corresponding plans you may have in a model, the w-a would require an unfortunate number of clicks, waiting for menus to pop-up, scrolling through those and selecting the right one. I have another 'idea' concerning offering a user's selection in the rotate 3d view according to view feature. This one I really consider a bug fix at best. As to @Ric_Weber unless another idea takes off there is no need for an upper limit as those seem to be hard-coded to one foot.
