Moving without disjoining

Moving without disjoining

Most of my issues with Revit stem from the disjoin tool..  I had an addition all set up with sections, interior elevations, components, all perfectly detailed and dimensioned.  All was going great until a wall thickness in the middle needed to change, thus throwing off the center axis and making it necessary for an entire section of the addition to shift 10".  I really wish I could just select everything and move it... but that would be way to easy, wouldn't it?

Many things "Can't move these elements at the same time. One of them is restricted to moving in one direction while the other is restricted to moving in a conflicting direction." I understand that concept, but there should be a way to move them all together without disjoining.

If I try to move everything piece by piece, I get hundreds of errors, so that doesn't even work.

If I move them and disjoin, I lose so much work: All my interior elevations lose their sheets, all my dimensions are lost, everything needs to be re-worked.

Please, just allow us to move things easily!!!  I don't know whether to work for hours on this, or to ignore the symmetry of my perfectly laid out building! This is so wrong, I can't stand it.

Funny.  I just had this problem yesterday.

A Google search found me this thread on the Revit Forum.Org

https://www.revitforum.org/architecture-general-revit-questions/9619-move-half-building.html

Unfortunately, it was me that started the thread asking the same question 7 years ago 🙄

I've had something similar recently (though I don't remember that particular error message). Either way, it would be nice to have element IDs of the problem elements...
