I think we can all agree that if the view schedule filters behave like the View filters, it would solve all those problems. In a API point of view, they both already inherit from the same class (View Class) Schedule Views have this hierarchy :View Class -> TableView Class -> ViewSchedule Class
This has been needed for a long time, please implement this! More times than not, I just need one more sorting category and my schedule would come out perfect.
We are a decade into this suggestion. Autodesk please see to it! Maybe there is intention to add it with a bigger overhaul of schedules (to behave more like a spreadsheet editor) but this simple Sorting/Grouping option should be implemented ASAP regardless.
Currently, Revit schedules allow only four sorting/grouping levels in the Sorting/Grouping tab. We would like this limit to be increased so schedules can be organized more precisely for documentation, quantity takeoff, and BIM-based workflows.
Request Please increase the number of available sorting/grouping levels in schedule properties from the current limit of four to a higher number, such as seven or more.
This would allow users to create more accurate and flexible schedule sorting structures without relying on workarounds.
Rationale Increasing the number of sorting/grouping levels would improve schedule usability and enable more precise data organization.
For example, allowing more levels would help users:
Create more detailed and accurate schedule sorting structures
Better organize quantities and classification data
Support BIM-based quantity takeoff and BIM 5D workflows more effectively
The current limit of four is often not sufficient for real project requirements, especially when multiple classification or breakdown conditions are needed.
I want to (for example) sort all my doors with all their different parameters (with, height, wall thickness, fire rating, sound reduction, fittings, etc.) before I give the doors their ID:s (Type Mark).
If this is impossible for Autodesk to figure out, maybe there is a plug-in that can help with this task?
