Model Text in 2D views

Model Text in 2D views

I know, odd request to allow "3D Model Text" to be visible in "2D Views".

The reason.... Model Text is the only text that has the ability to be the correct height according to the model.  When I am creating a drafting view and I want to specify an actual lettering height I have to create a funky text height style for just one detail, which throws off our company standard of specific text styles.  Yes, I can create an elevation view and make that my detail using regular Model Text, but that detail would have to be in my template and couldn't be inserted into another model using the "insert views from".

So...either allow 3D model text to be placed in 2D views (drafting, legends, etc) or create a 2D Model Text that allows for actual height and does scale to the view it is placed in like other lines and elements so I can eliminate all my "detail only" text styles.

Yes please. Text needs some work in Revit. This particularly would be awesome for a variety of things and I think it should have an option in the model and generic annotations and detail item families.

In annotations, it could help add parameters to text so text could resize without checkboxes for multiple text styles. It would also help with general alignment and if the text needs to move in an annotation.

In detail items or drafting views, you could finally do proper signage details without awkwardly using images or CAD files. This might also be useful in some detailed families where text is needed. An option can even be available that allows the text to scale per sheet size or relative to drawing, so if you need text to get bigger or smaller based on scale rather than show the same, that becomes an option. Again, lots of use cases for this.
