Matchlines are basically just a line that you can adjust it's visibility in 3D space and it shows up when linked. I think they could be a bit more useful if we could add some parameters to them and tag that information.
We use them a lot for defining regions of a large building in tandem with a key plan. In this scenario it would be great to have the ability to tag a matchline with a Side A / Side B. This way you can designate which region in the key plan should be referenced for either side of the matchline.
- This means add the ability to add Project/Shared Parameters to Matchlines. Or at least give some default side A / B options in there.
- Because Matchlines travel through links, this would enable other disciplines to use the same matchline and tag the necessary information in their views as needed.
I'm sure there are others out there with thoughts on more uses, this is just the main reason for my post. I've seen other Ideas about sub-categories and just "model" lines that travel across links and have some extra options.
