I am looking to create spatial arrangements of our buildings for VR showspaces highlighting our buildings, 3D details and our previous work.

To do so, I need to link live version of just parts of the model, cropped parts. This is not currently possible.
See what I am trying to achieve here:

At the moment, the workaround is to export CAD and it is quite limited (you cannot get color and transparencies automatically in the same model and the link is not live)

I know this could be problematic for a regular project, so it should be quite evident that the model is cropped in the Manage Link dialog box.
With this feature, people would be able to create assemblies of 3d details and interesting arrangements of their existing and past work in Revit.
For a VR review, you could have a look a a few details without having to bring in the whole building.
