🔥🔥🔥🔥 Invert Background (BRING IT BACK!!)

🔥🔥🔥🔥 Invert Background (BRING IT BACK!!)

We should not have to switch the UI from Dark to Light to PDF items to prevent the black masking to print.

Please bring back the Invert Background in the print settings feature ASAP!!

Please advise!

What PDF program are you using and are you printing instead of exporting?

The built in Export to PDF does not print the black background.

Mike,

Thank you for the question and comment.

We utilize printing to PDF with BlueBeam Revu.

Right now, when I create the PDF (The same way I have done for almost a decade) I have to have the white background UI settings so that when I create a PDF my everything that has masking are not being created in black.

The below images, the only thing I did differently is change the UI active theme from Dark to Light in:

File --> Options --> Color -- UI active theme:

We have been using the Bluebeam print for years and we have some folks using the Dark Theme and have never had this issue.  I just tested it some.  I'm not sure what's going on there, but mine works fine.  I even tried playing with some settings to see if I could make it do it. I put a masking region into a view and it printed correctly.  I have text that has an opaque background, that worked fine.  Have you tried the Export to PDF?  Does it do the same thing?

The one suggestion I can provide to make life a little better is instead of going to File --> Options --> Color -- UI active theme:, you can go to View>Canvas Theme (far right).  That also can be added to your QAT for faster access as well.  Hope that helps a little.

Ric,

It started when I updated to Revit 2025.

No, I do not export to PDF. I have not, I have never had an issue the setup I have before updating.

Blessings!!

Stop using 3rd party pdf export. The native one works fine. I haven't once seen someone post about having an issue with it.

To clarify, I am printing to Bluebeam Revu as the printer, not exporting via a third-party PDF tool. The behavior is the same whether an HP or Epson printer is selected. This worked without issue before Revit 2025. The problem began only after upgrading to 2025.

Export to PDF is a built in feature of Revit, it is not a 3rd party add-in, try exporting to PDF to see if it works.

It was added to Revit in 2022.

The issue must be on your end somehow as we cannot recreate it both with printing or exporting.

This can be closed out...

This was an issue with Bluebeam... right after my last response... a notification window popped up on my screen for an update... I laughed saying "what timing"... to say the least, this resolved my conflict!

Thanks for the suggestions and input and tips... had I known an update was coming... obviously I would not have wasted your time.

Merry Christmas to All!
