Improved Sheet Sorting

It would be good to be able to have multi level sorting of sheets (similar to grouping) in the project browser in a similar way to how we can sort in Schedules rather than just Number and Scale.

This is particularly important when working with BS1192 numbering systems.

Please add the ability to add custom parameters to the Browser Organization Properties dialog, on the Grouping and Sorting tab, at the bottom for Sort by. Currently this list is built-in. I think making this support shared and/or project parameters would solve many wishes on this board. Like this one:

There are plenty of "Group By" selectors, probably more than anyone should need before you end up with so many subfolders.  Would be nice if there were a few more "Sort By" selectors in this particular browser.  An issue I've personally run into is that the back end of my grouping strategy forces the program to show "??" for drafting views, which could be resolved if I had another level of sorting.  

My current format is to group by "Family", then by "Type", and finally by "Phase", with the "Sort By" set to "Associated Level".  Essentially I'd like to be able to move "Phase" from "Group By" into a second line of the "Sort By" function and have it follow "Associated Level".  

My current setup accomplishes my goal, but as I mentioned it creates a folder labeled "??" in my drafting views since drafting views have no phase association.  If there was another "Sort By" line available that would remove the additional folder.

@CFNBen , I think that after working with it for a long time and with complex projects (more than thousands of sheets and views) I can say that I understand it properly; that´s why it should be improved.

Any update on this? Working on a project with 100+ sheets is difficult enough as it is haha!

Based on the comments in this thread, I don't know if the original poster was able to clearly convey what they were looking for, but I'm fairly confident I want the exact same thing.  I created a new Revit Ideas post that I hope would be more specific.

@psubink why would you not just add your comments here?  Now we have two ideas that essentially want the same thing thus diluting the responses and will ultimately end up being combined... 🙄

In the Project Browser, any parameter can be used to Group sheets, but only Sheet order and Scale can be used to Sort sheets.

Please expand sort order to be able to use any parameter, and to have multiple levels, just like sheet Grouping and just like in Schedules.

Came to request this, to not only see that its been requested 8 years ago, but has a ton of support!  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can this be implemented??
