I'm curious, what do you see as an advantage to the spacebar rotating the elevations on placement? (Compared to the current functionality of rotating with the TAB key). Is it to be consistent with rotating a family on placement?
Pardon my french but are you serious? Tab does this? I've been pressing space instinctively for years and it's obviously never worked. My thought process has been exactly as you both @cprettyman and @njones9JJCA are saying, I'm inserting a thing so the space bar rotates it.
Anyway time to go metaphorically jump off a bridge.
In the interest of being productive after such an expletive filled rant, I think I would have subconsciously tried tab if the target wall was highlighted while placing the elevation. I would still appreciate being to use either tab or space, heck I'd even be willing to set the shortcut myself if Autodesk exposed the key binding. I should probably check that.
