Edit Multiple Revit Links Display Settings Simultaneously

Edit Multiple Revit Links Display Settings Simultaneously

There are tons of reasons why the ability to edit multiple Revit links display settings at once is valuable. I do multifamily so we use Revit links to create our units and we load those into the project, but some units have variations so we use design options. So it would be nice to be able to grab a group of links that are from the same file, and edit their display settings together for design options, model categories, or linked views attributes. The unit links my company build have a lot of flexibility with all the different variations we have, but when it comes to implementing that flexibility in the model by editing the links display settings, Revit falls short by having to edit each link, even if its the same link type, one at a time. There are ways around this, but they are cumbersome. It would be nice to have more fluidity between the links display settings flexibility and Revit's ability to implement those visibility variations. This multi link display editability feature would make links more powerful which will make the software more powerful in this aspect.

Yes, that would be great.

Another option is to have "links" as a category, so we could, for instance, override ceilings in all links at a time.

This would be great, or even being able to template links and apply a template to a link specifically.  We will almost always go in and turn off Annotations in links and being able to do this globally for all links would make this a ton quicker on larger projects.

It would be great! In my opinion this feature should be included in a main solution that permits to edit also multiple view template at one time.

It is definitely needed! I don't understand why such obvious things are not added. It is so stupid from those who program revit. And there many more things like this. They are obvious things that need to be changed/added, but nobody in autodesk care about it.

For instance we are doing the architecture project. Each week engineers send us their part made in revit. There are about 10-12  different sections/links. At some point we are printing with engineer links on.

So that in each link there are their own levels and grids, they are all visible in architecture drawings. And each f*cking week I need to manually switch them off one by one instead of selecting all links simultaneously and switch off grids and levels at once. This will save us a looooooooooooooooooooooooooot of time !!!!!!!!!

Please include this feature ASAP !

Any solutions to this yet?

Allow defaults for inserting linked Revit files, either By Host View or By Linked View. Or create a feature that allows multiple links to be changed from By Host View to By Linked View.

Sorry, this is a previously requested feature. I'm searching for all posts similar to this one. Please disregard.

@kbevingtonN6US5 Care to put the link to that 'other' idea into a comment?

@alisherPEBPB  I'm all for this idea, but I'm confused.  You say that you get updated models from your engineers weekly and then you have to readjust your settings every time?  Are they changing the file name?  Are you changing the file name?  If so, why???  That defaults the purpose of it all.  If you feel the need to keep past versions and you're just using a server (i.e. no versioning), then change the name of the old version, not the new one and then all of your settings remain the same when you reload the links.
