Combine Floor Plan and Reflected Ceiling Plan System View into One

Hi There,

With the addition of duplicating views & sheets, it has improved our workflow 10 fold.

The next logical step is being able to duplicate a Floor Plan View and convert them to be a Reflected Ceiling Plan. This would be a game changer as currently where it stands. You have to create a new Reflected Ceiling plan due to it being a different System View which then leads you to having to adjust crop regions and grids for every view...

I simply want the floor plan to look upwards to see the ceiling.

The grand idea is there would be an option similar to the Structure Plan View System View where we can tell it to "Look up" for the view direction (under edit type). Is there a reason why we can't just have 1 system view that looks down or upwards? Drafting workflows would improve substantially.

While I would like some more compatibility or interchangeability with itself at lot, the common approach to reflected ceiling plans here in Germany is traditionally that these get made very late in a project if at all. The reason for this is that we have a code in place requiring architects to display what is going on in the ceiling covering a floor plan in said floor plan. For that we are to use a dotted line though dashed lines are common, too. So if you have beams or girders bearing the floor above the floor plan these need to be represented as lines in floor plans. The Revit way to do this is turning on the floor plan as an underlay and use the line works tool to click every line individually and get rid of the underlay afterwards. The work around provided by a forum and/or AD is to put extra show above 2d graphics into the beams or girder families and show that if cut by a floor plan - rendering them awkward when used in actual structural plans. Ah and you need to put an invisible feeler model line into the families so that there is geometry for the floor plan to cut through.

Changing a floor plan into a celing plan would be helpful but putting two floor plan like entities into one sheet makes both hard to keep track of also co workers need to know something like that was done at all.

The app's incompatibility with itself continues in not allowing columns to become structural columns or to convert a facade wall into a window or a floor becoming a ceiling. Yes, copying sketches from one element to another works unless you want a sketch from a floor inside the sketch of a wall profile.
