Colour code the Quick Access Toolbar

Hi,

It would be really handy if Revit could allow you to colour code the QAT. I keep my QAT organised as it is by making sure selections are group together as their shown in the toolbar, and using separators, but colour coding them would make it much easier. Surely this wouldn't be too hard to do either? E.g., everything from annotate tab highlighted in red, views tab in green, etc etc. I find myself having to lean forward every time i want to select an option from the QAT, and i use all of the listed commands regularly.

Yes, I've thought of that, too. I work with two monitors or one 16:9 long monitor when at home. I split the screen in two and usually work with plan views on the left and 3D views and sections on the right. But colors could be helpful when I have more than one model active. If we are not organized it's so easy to mix views from different models. And saving our views display would be nice, too. Sometimes I'm working with more than 10 views at the same time. Opening a Revit session and configure all from scratch makes me loose time.

@rafael.martinsXKWZS, this idea is referring to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), not the view tabs.  I saw you commented about the colorization in another post as well that was not about view tabs per se.  We all would like colored view tabs to be native to the UI (see https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/categorize-tabbed-views/idi-p/8023716), but in the meantime, pyRevit does have a great tab colorization tool and it works really well.  It could do more, but it's free, so it's better than nothing.  Also, if you go to the pyRevit settings you can adjust how the tool colorizes the tabs and have projects look different than families when those are also open.
