Thanks for your submission and votes on this idea! We are evaluating where this request falls into our roadmap and will provide an update when we have made a decision.
We've completed our review of this idea. After investigating the effort required to implement this request, we unable to add it to our roadmap at this time due to other priorities. However, we think this is a great idea so we will reconsider it as we made adjustments to our roadmap in the future. Thanks for the submission and keep voting!
please provide Dynamic spell checks like Autocad in all text, drawing title, and sheet title est. the existing spell check is garbage, if possible, provide add-in for "Grammarly".
A much smaller (but still helpful) step could/would be; a BACK button in the spell-check dialogue when you run it.
If you're clicking next/next/next quick scanning acronyms; and click it once too often when a new misspelled word comes up; you have to start all over, or make a mental note of it and come back for a second pass to get it.
*And being able to check more than just the VERY VERY limited subset of text would be stellar!!! (Still resort to exporting to Autocad to run spell check when something important goes out, because they cant seem/care to get it to work in its sister-product). Too much to hope for, but ….
To reorganize and consolidate our Revit Ideas for ease of use to both our customers and our product teams, we are no longer using the "Future Consideration" status for Revit Ideas. All Revit Ideas are always under review, and consolidating posts (and Kudos!) will give weight to topics previously spread across many posts. We are continuing to evaluate where this request falls into our roadmap and will provide an update when we have made a decision.
It would also be really nice to have a feature in Revit that when you're typing a formula a closing bracket is automatically added when you type an opening bracket, just like in visual studio.
However, this would have to be something that runs constantly in the background as I understand it correctly, that wouldn't be ideal. Maybe it could be implemented that such a spelling check runs whenever the user is done editing a text or label.
It is 2021, and automatic spell check with right clicking is standard in nearly every other program. Revit is far behind the curve on this, and allowing external spell checkers to integrate would be the ideal solution.
I can't believe that in 2021 Revit only has the most basic word processing capabilities. Autocad has had a robust text editor for the last decade at least. The following basic formatting is not posable in revit.....
Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!
