Allow clicking view range even if greyed out

To check the viewing depth of any given plan view, it is cumbersome to gather that information from the view templates manager. Especially so, when you have many storeys (typical floors in a high rise) and one template to rule them all.

I propose to have the standard view range dialogue window to open when clicked maybe with a hint "values by view template" in its title. The properties window's "Edit" button could become a "View" button instead.

just use the temporary view properties if you need to temporarily change a view template.  Or, if you need different view range settings for different views, but everything else the same, simply exclude View Range from being controlled by the template (check box on the View Range line in the Template settings).

If you just want to check what the current view range setting is, just click on the view template button for that view in Properties, and then click the View Range.  It's literally one additional click.  Maybe 2 if you count the clicks to close the menus.
