When a tag is tagging multiple objects, if the parameter in that tag is set to have a calculation, the tag would show that calculation instead of "<varies>".
So a total of the tagged areas, or a total of a formula based on a feature of the object.
It's really needed for landscape architecture in Revit for labels that correctly reflect changes in what's tagged immediately. Landscape plans need to be able to show small group quantity totals in group tags as well as in schedule, and not just exclusively in the schedule.
This could be an option when editing a formula or editing the format of a system or shared parameter in the Edit Label window. Just some idea of where to keep such an option without having to create a whole new dialog box.
