Why is Revit only able to draw straightforward stairs that could have been drawn by hand, whereas complex curved stairs in need of computational design are left out? It should be possible to design stairs based on start and endpoints based on a certain (e.g. s-curve) path. For this to work, the thread angle and smoothness could be added to the stair creation parameters in order to automate complex stair designs, without having to use Dynamo.
A paper concerning this topic (I have not contacted the author) called: "Stair Design Using Quantified Smoothness" could provide some more insight.
