RS Means is a popular construction cost estimating tool: https://www.rsmeans.com/
It would be EXTREMELY useful to be able to get a subscription to the RS Means software, which would include a Revit Add-in, that allows Revit users to generate an estimate for their design, in real time.
The Add-in would allow the Revit user to select duct or piping systems, an entire building roof, all the windows, a certain subset of structural steel, or anything they wish, then run "Estimate Cost" for the project's zip code.
The output would be generated on the cloud fairly quickly, and the user could select the accuracy to within 10%, 5% or 1%, each of which would require successively more time and money to create.
Revit and RS Means are both databases, they share OmniClass numbers for all their components, and being able to generate accurate cost estimates (relatively) quickly on the fly can help design professionals keep their clients informed, and their expectations managed.
