Text is printing larger than it appears?

After upgrading to 2017, all of my text is printing to (either Adobe PDF, my 24x36 plotter, or smaller printer) a slightly larger size.  (Almost) all of my fonts are Arial, however I am noticing that there is a difference regardless of font.  For example, my Arial 3/32 front is printing not quite at 1/8" - somethign in between.  If text is say, inside of a revision cloud on the screen, it comes out on the PDF/paper overlapping the revision cloud.  I have attempted to print in both vecotr and raster.  No other patterns, line types, etc. appear to be affected.

Sadly I did not try to start printing with 2017 until today (when I need it).

Adam, I was having the same problem with the text printing too large when printing to PDF in Revit 2018. In my case I had recently changed the Size of Text from 125% to 100% in Display Settings (right click from Desktop) in Windows (this made the resolution of my text smaller globally). This was causing a glitch in Revit 2018. I changed the Size of Text back to 125% and it fixed the problem. Hope that helps.

This is a great suggestion. I'll give this a try next time I have a problem with my text.

I had this same issue in Revit 2017 using the Bluebeam PDF printer. I switched the text resolution from 100% to 125% and text in PDF files returned to normal size. I do not have this issue in Revit 2016 and earlier. I consider this a bug that needs to be reported.

I think the problem is directly connected to my Surface book/laptop. I've found that there is a much higher likelihood that this happens if I disconnect from an external screen while in Revit. When I change primary monitors my surface automatically adjusts the resolution and screen proportions. This appears to somehow interfere with the final proportions of items in my document.

There were serious problems in the past between Revit and Microsoft surface's resolution/proportion settings. This might be somehow associated with that.

I haven't had this problem with my desktop computer. I've been trying to not disconnect from an external screen while working on projects and it seems to be helping.

The Surface has a HiRes screen so the default Display Scaling is > 100%.  Try to reduce it to 100% and if that makes everything too small too read then reduce the screen resolution.

I had the same problem when printing a PDF set using a laptop with a HDMI connection to my desktop monitor. Unplugging the monitor and working only on the laptop fixed it.

Thank you for your comments about this issue I was able to disconnect my second monitor and print. Do you have a recommendation for a permanent fix?

I am experiencing the same issue. When I print to PDF or to a printer from my computer set up at work all the text gets slightly bigger and shifts slightly to the right. However using the same computer and same print settings from either my home or on the job site it prints fine. I have also tested that if I have a different person in my department print the same sheet with the same settings that I am using it prints fine from their computer.

I don't think it is a print setting issue because I am using the same settings in both locations. I also don't think it is a computer issue because I am using the same computer in the office that I use at home and on the job site.

Is this an issue isolated only to projects updated to a newer version of Revit?

It would be nice to know why this doesn't work sometimes in some conditions but does work other times.

What worked for me was :

changed my text style to Arial, and back to Times Roman.
After applying both, it printed back on the right size.

Had to repeat this with every type of text.

Tank you for your reply,

Sadly none of the above fixes solved my issue.
I had to make all text sizes one version smaller, to keep it readable.

Hopefully this will get fixed soon, very hard to keep checking all text on a sheet to see if it rescales or moves.

It was fixed in the drawing after using other text style and switching back, sadly this does not work in family's

Hi @Anonymous

I'm sorry to hear that.

Can you send us your recent journal and NFO file to investigate further?
