Elements appear transparent

Hello,

I am trying to adjust the display settings for these mailbox elements, so that the curtain grids behind them do not show through. I have tried overrides by element, no luck.

Are you in Wireframe View?

Doesn't look like any of the Mailbox geometry in visible in elevation - or maybe the mailbox material is transparent.

Check VG for the category transparency.  And share the mailbox family for less guessing.

Mailbox courtesy of BIMObject:

Mailbox is "see-through" in Project:

Edit Mailbox Family, check these boxes in the Visibility Settings for the large extrusion representing the box and then Reload Family into the Project:

Result back in the Project:

This worked for part of the mailbox but not the entire object.

Still, the same workflow. Select the Geometry in the Family, press Visibility Settings and check boxes.

Aside from fixing the transparency, shouldn't you place curtain grids around the mailbox area, change the curtain panels behind the mailboxes to Empty System Panels to create the opening for the mailboxes?  Or are they surface mounted?

The Mailbox was probably  meant to use Masking Regions in Elevation, and the creator forgot to add them.  Maybe they got lost in the mail.  😉

See my reply above regarding boxing out a space in the curtain wall for the mailboxes.  As shown, your curtain panels may be on the same plane as the face of the mailboxes so they still show.  Share a 3D view for confirmation.

You are looking at the back of the mailbox.  Press Space a couple of times to flip it.
