I am trying to view the 3d model of a building but the walls are either grayed out or they are faded so i can see through them to the floor below. Any suggestions?

Wireframe View?  Transparency applied to Walls?

Post a picture and/or the file.

...the default 3D View? Could be corrupted. Delete View and create a new one by clicking on the house icon on the QAT.

Did you see the thread I linked you to in my above post?

You can post your file here if you want.

...set your View Phase Filter to Show Complete.  Does that fix it?
