Office hours:
We will answer your questions and give a walk-through of the project.
Contest & Submission End Date: September 30th 2024 11:59pm Pacific Time
Requirements:
Judging Criteria: Your design will be evaluated based on three key criteria:
Architectural Design: Develop an exciting proposal that enhances the urban fabric surrounding the plot.
Living Qualities: Show how you have used the analyses to optimize your proposal. E.g. Tell how insight helped shape the result and final concept. Find a balance between good sun exposure and shadow areas, optimize daylight access using the Vertical Sky Component and use Embodied carbon to shape your buildings. Make sure to avoid wind tunnels and create a great outdoor microclimate.
Storytelling: Explain your design decisions in a data-driven way. The voiceover should demonstrate how Forma was used as a decision support tool. Consider your buildings, the outdoor areas they define and the impact on neighboring buildings, and tell your design story in an easy to understand and compelling way. Note that you are allowed to use and show a workflow that includes 3rd party tools.

Hello!
Just wondering if the file we have to use for the Contest is "Forma Architectural Design contest" (screenshot attached)? or, is there another one we have to use? and if so, can we use any block we want, or just the once you show in the video?

Hi @francisco_de_leonU6H9W,
That site is the last year's one. Did you created it in the last days from the home tab menu?

Hi the site area of the demo project seems to be locked at less than 1,000,000 square feet while the minimum area requirement is 3,000,000 square feet. Can you provide some guidance on increasing the area that is shown on the map and 3d display

Hi @Amusa200,
The minimum area requirement is 3,000,000 square feet Gross Floor Area (GFA). I drew a proposal is 6 stories on average and quickly reached the limit. Review the screenshot below.

@Jeames_HanleyTUDSP just submitted the first entry. I loved the gallery and how he used different extensions to articulate the design intent.

Hi Daniel,
I created an entry and posted it and after it has shortly been online, it is now not visible anymore on the entries website. Do you know the reason for that?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Mauriz

Thank you! That worked. Now my entry seems to be in there twice. I hope that is not an issue.

Can I submit a video with an improved voice-over narration under my comments?

Hi @daniel.silva.gameiro , some users (including myself) are struggling with attaching a video under 71MB. I embedded the video in my post instead of attaching it as a file. I also provided a link to a version I uploaded to YouTube.
Is this acceptable?
