I had this idea the past Saturday working with Particle Flow, for refresh my knowledge of particles.
The Metaballs, like the ones in the Super Spray, Particle Flow, or like in the Blob Mesh Coumpound object in MAX are very good to simulate fluids.
Several of the Mudbox users here, like something similar to the Z-Spheres in Mud to be able to do fast sketches of characters, creatures, and so on, from scratch. Looking the way the metaballs work, I guess that could be great to adapt that technology to Mud, in somekind of brush, with all the standar parameters of Mud,stamp spacing, randomize, and size. This way, with simple strokes, and randomize off, we could paint metaballs in the 3D space, and those metaballs using an stamp spacing about 1 or 0, will simply merge with each other, in a single mesh, like happens in MAX with every sphere are near one to other.
That could be great. The metaball technology is already in use. Only need to be adapted to an specific brush to work in Mud! 😄
